MRF Technology
Materials Recycling Facilities (MRF) are the key component in the recycling chain from households to reprocessors.
Ford MRF has been designed with advanced mechanical sorting equipment, in combination with some human intervention, to sort mixed dry recyclables into different types and grades of material to meet market demands.

To help the MRF perform to its full potential the correct materials must enter the MRF. An input specification sets a standard for the quality and type of dry recyclables collected by the District and Borough Council’s that can be sorted and graded at the MRF.
To enable them to be sorted and then recycled, all materials must be:
Clean; free from food contamination
Dry and placed loose in the recycling bin
