Almost 10 months on from a devastating fire at Crawley's Household Waste Recycling Site (HWRS) and transfer station, site operators Viridor is delighted to announce that the facility is now open again and it is business as usual.

Ahead of the official start of Spring on 21st March, Recycle Now has teamed up with clutter expert Beverly Wade to launch the ‘Don’t bin it, bring it’ campaign. The campaign will encourage us all to recycle electricals or ‘e-clutter’ as part of a spring clean.

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has awarded Viridor Waste Management its Tachofta Compliance Award 2008 for demonstrating the best all-round compliance and improvement for driver hours and working time regulations.

Viridor Waste Management, West Sussex County Council's recycling contractor has recently gained an internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management systems - BS OHSAS 1800.  

A new permanent prestige Household Waste Recycling Site is expected to be operating in Crawley by late spring/early summer of next year.

It was a musical first for a Household Waste Recycling Site when West Chiltington’s Silver Band paid a visit to Billingshurst’s Household Waste Recycling Site (HWRS) this July.
