New Horsham mobile waste service

HORSHAM’S Mobile Household Waste Service is going green from Saturday April 3. The current service is being replaced with a new service that will accept, for the first time, green waste for composting and some white goods for recycling. This new service will be available between April and November.

The County Council is committed to decreasing the amount of waste sent to landfill and increasing the amount of waste recycled. Nearly all of the waste accepted at the existing service is disposed of to landfill and much of it is green waste that could be recycled.

The white goods / bulky waste that can be accepted at the new mobile green waste recycling service in Horsham include large white goods (cookers, washing machines, dish washers) and bulky furniture (tables, sofas etc).

Hazardous waste cannot be accepted due to waste regulations. So fridges, freezers, televisions, computer screens, batteries and any chemicals or liquids cannot be accepted.

The mobile service operates in:

  • Henfield – High Street Car Park (subject to change)
  • Pulborough – Lower Street Car Park
  • Steyning – Church Street Car Park
  • Storrington – Library Car Park

A limited service for the landfill waste will continue and will operate at a different time to the new green waste and white goods recycling service.
