Live in Pulborough? Has your kettle run out of steam?
Posted on 11 October 2012
On Saturday 20th October, the mobile recycling event will be in Pulborough!
You can bring your broken and unwanted electrical items to the Lower Street Car Park in Pulborough between 10am and 3pm to be recycled.
Mobile Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) events are currently being trialled in the four parishes on Henfield, Pulborough, Steyning and Storrington on a rolling basis until April 2013. WEEE is everything that is powered by batteries or by plugging into the mains socket.
The scheme is being run by West Sussex County Council in partnership with Viridor and support from Horsham District Council in order to further encourage recycling of small WEEE items and to provide a more localised service in rural communities.
The WEEE service can accept large electrical appliances such as washing machines and cookers; fridge freezers; display equipment such as TVs, laptops and personal computers; fluorescent tubes; and small electrical appliances such as hairdryers and toasters.
For any items that can’t be accepted, the nearest Household Waste Recycling Sites are at Hopoast, Worthing Road, Horsham, RH13 0AR or at Brighton Road, Shoreham, BN43 6RJ.
Alternatively you can contact Horsham District Council, which offers a chargeable bulky household collection service. For more details visit www.horsham.gov.uk/environment or telephone 01403 733144.
