The mobile service can only accept wood and green waste only at present. 


From Thursday 6th October 2016, Selsey and The Witterings mobile recycling service will operate on fortnightly basis on a Thursday from 8.15am – 3.00pm.

You can use the service to recycle:
What can I take to Selsey and The Witterings mobile service?

• Green Garden waste

• Wood

• Metal items e.g. pots and pans.

• Cardboard, paper and shredded paper.

• Small electrical items – e.g. irons, toasters, hairdryers. Sorry no TVs or white goods.

A container will be available for non-recyclable material. This mobile recycling service does not accept soil and hardcore or hazardous materials.

What about large NON-electrical items?

The Mobile Recycling Service is not intended for large bulky items, For further details on alternative arrangements for a green waste collection service and bulky waste collection service from Chichester District Council please visit

PLEASE NOTE: The mobile recycling service at Selsey and The Witterings are for household recyclables only. We will NOT accept any recyclables from commercial sources.

How do I report fly-tipping

If you see someone fly-tipping or would like to report an area where fly-tipping has taken place, you should make a note of the following:

- The date, time and place of the occurrence.

- What the waste looks like and how much there is.

- A description of any vehicles involved, including the vehicles registration numbers.

- A description of any persons involved in the offence.

Report fly-tipping to your local council 

Please note, there may be occasions where WSCC may need to reduce the hours or suspend the service at short notice.
