Clean aluminium foil including takeaway and ready meal containers, household wrapping, cooking foil and milk bottle tops can be recycled.
You can place clean aluminium foil and containers in your kerbside recycling bin, where the contents will end up at Ford Materials Recycling Facility for sorting.

aluminium foil

Aluminium foil is recycled separately from aluminium cans because because it is a different alloy.

An alternative is reuse: for example, foil containers can be used as seed trays.

NOTE: Metalised plastic film, such as that used for crisp packets, which is often promoted as 'foil', must not be put in your recycling. Use the scrunch test: Fold or scrunch the material in the hand. If it springs back it's plastic and cannot be recycled! However, some charities may take it, for examples see the website of the UK Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation: http://www.alupro.org.uk/.
