Never put ceramics, old drinks glasses or pyrex in with glass for recycling as it will contaminate the load and prevent it from being recycled.
A re-use option is to make artwork out of broken ceramic pieces, such as mosaics.
A local art group might be willing to take interesting ceramic pieces for this reason.
