Recycling and waste management firm Viridor and Southern Water are throwing open their doors to visitors in September as part of the Heritage Open Days event organised by English Heritage.

The state-of-the-art Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and Education Centre in Ford has shown itself to be at the top of the class for educational visits by being awarded a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.

FACT: Currently only about 5 per cent of all ink cartridges are actually recycled - the rest end up in landfill sites!

Brent Lodge Bird is a bird and wildlife hospital, who are dedicated to the treatment, rehabilitation and release of injured wild bird and small mammals.
