You can put newspapers into your kerbside collection bin that is collected by your District or Borough Council for recycling.
Alternatively, newspapers are accepted at all the permanent Household Waste Recycling Sites in West Sussex. they can be placed in the Mixed Paper and Card containers. Click here to locate your nearest site.
Newspaper and magazines are extremely easy to recycle and waste paper makes up about 60% of the raw material used by the paper industry (4 million tonnes in total). Mixed waste paper is used to make lower grade paper products and cardboard. Separated newspapers and magazines are used to make new newsprint. High quality manufacturers' waste and office or computer paper is added to virgin wood pulp to make better quality paper products.
If you have newsprint arising from a trade, business or commercial operation then please telephone West Sussex County Council, Waste Management Services for guidance. Tel: (01243) 642106.
